6 days in Florence - a food lover’s
paradise. Unpack and relax, you stay here for
a week. And we have a wide range of cultural explorations;
your experience will be a journey of tastes. We
feature a ‘Sample Itinerary’ which
offers a suggested culinary program. Modifications
to the program are easy enough as we’re
flexible. Each outing is of course subject to
weather, availability and whether or not it compliments
your interests. Rest assured that an exceptional
week is planned to highlight the very best of
the region. You will enjoy fabulous wine tastings,
informative guided tours, markets and delicious
gourmet food.

Day 1
Depart Saturday.
Day 2 (overnight)
Sunday
Arrive Sunday morning at Florence Airport in Italy.
Take a quick taxi ride to Villa Azalee, the cost
of a taxi from the airport to your boutique hotel
is approximately 15 Euros each way (approximately
$25 CAD each way).
Arrive at hotel, check-in, relax, get unpacked
and acquainted with your surroundings.

Day 3
(overnight)
Monday
Continental Breakfast is included or a full American
Breakfast can be ordered a la carte at an additional
cost.
9.30 am departure for cooking class in the countryside.
10.00 am arrive at class – refreshments
and presentation of the day’s program.
1.30 pm aperitif in the garden (weather permitting)
and lunch. Wine from local producers in the Chianti
area will be served with lunch, white wine is usually
served with the appetizer, red wine served with
the meal and following that a dessert wine.
2.30 pm departure for hotel.
5.00 pm refreshments will be served daily at Villa
Azalee if you’re interested.
Your evening is free to ‘do your own thing’,
relax & explore the surroundings. Consult
your handy Safari Kit for local restaurant recommendations…it’s
an excellent resource to ensure that your gastronomic
experience is top notch.

Tuesday
Continental Breakfast
9.30 am departure for sightseeing 10.00 am arrive
at San Lorenzo Food Market – visit the market
with food tasting.
1.00 pm light lunch at a nearby trattoria.
2.30 pm back to the hotel.
Afternoon and evening free to go out exploring
to find that great little ‘gem’ for
dinner.

Wednesday
Continental Breakfast
9.30 am get ready to today’s cooking class.
10.00 am the class today will be held in the city,
Florence – starting with refreshments and
presentation of the day’s program.
1.30 pm sit down to enjoy your lunch creation
with wine.
2.30 pm departure for hotel.
Free afternoon and night, make sure you consult
your Safari Kit.

Thursday
Continental Breakfast
9.30 am departure from hotel with your guide Gillian
to an established historic vineyard.
10.30 am arrive at Castello da Verrazzano - visit
the garden and the castle, rebuilt in the 18th
century. Tour the cellars built in 1170 and receive
your introduction to the Chianti area.
1.00 pm lunch starting with tastes of local cheeses
and salamis, as well as a four-course meal, plus
coffee and liqueur.
3.00 pm back to your hotel.
