During your stay in Florence you
will be immersed into Tuscan cooking, art and
culture. Your week will be about cooking, but more than
anything else it will be a journey into yesterday and today's
Tuscany, through the memory of many traditions and the
reality that preserves those traditions. You will get
a feel for the history of the countryside, of wine,
of olive oil, of art, of bronze casting and of perfume
essence selecting: the history of Tuscany.
Lively conversation around the kitchen and dinner table
will ensue chatting about what is produced and cooked
during the different seasons. Together you will discover
that preparing a meal has a common thread throughout
the world. One does not know a country well enough if
you don't know its culinary traditions you are promised
a true food experience and immersion.

Your hosts are two ladies that
have a passion for entertaining at home in common - different personalities, but the same enthusiasm, knowledge and love of the tradition and
history of the art of entertaining with the food
and culture of this region. Anna has a degree
in literature and loves to entertain friends at
home. She values the table as a pleasure and meeting
place. In the country house she offers the best
meals of the Tuscan tradition in a joyful and
fascinating atmosphere. Gloria is an art historian
and lived in the USA for many years. She mingles
with international circles, expressing her true Florentine
flare when it comes to cooking.

You will stay in Florence at the
charming Villa Azalee, a large town house turned into
a small hotel and tastefully decorated using Tuscan
family furnishings. Your boutique hotel is the result
of a perfect combination of modern and ancient Italian
tradition and hospitality. It is beautifully situated
in a shady garden nearby the downtown area,
the train station and the airport. Florence is widely
known as the Italian centre for cuisine, hospitality,
wine, design & art.

Classes are a maximum of 10 people
and are dedicated to those who love to cook of any skill: from real
beginners to skilled cooks. You'll experience
hands-on learning of the local culinary traditions
– 2 guests cook at a time while the others
observe until it’s their turn. Classes are
held in the countryside at the beautiful 14th century
family farmhouse or in the city at Gloria’s
spacious downtown apartment overlooking the Cathedral.
