About Podere Le Rose. |
 |
In the heart of Tuscany in Chianti
is Podere Le Rose a beautiful 13th century "casa
colonica" (Italian farmhouse B&B typical
of the Tuscan countryside) which has been lovingly
restored by the de'Mari family, one of the oldest
noble families in Italy. Podere Le Rose has authentic
terracotta floors, chestnut beams and a wood fire.
In the organic garden, vines, olive trees, roses,
oleanders, geraniums, spices, fruit trees and
other typical plants of the region flourish, all
in the peacefulness and panorama of the unspoiled
countryside.
In the area surrounding Podere Le Rose, you can
discover the treasures of Chianti, a region well-known
for its castles, medieval "borghi",
wine producers, skilled craftsmen, warm and hospitable people, restaurants, typical Tuscan food, Chianti Classico wine and
olive oil.

About The
Family. |
| |
The de‘ Mari family discovered
Tuscany many years ago with its artistic towns,
hilly countryside, the wines and white cannellini
beans, but especially the people: they fell in love
with it all. They have lived here for more than
30 years, working for almost 20 years in their school
of Italian language in Florence. They noticed that
many foreigners come to Italy & miss true contact
with the people, and the real Italian lifestyle.
They wanted to extend the opportunity to experience
the true culture & stay in a ‘real’
Italian home. Your experience will be viewed through
the eyes of Italians leading you in this discovery.
Your hosts Simonetta and Paola are in their 40’s
& both have degrees from the Florence University
but in different subjects: Science and Linguistics.
Both speak English, but one also speaks Spanish
and the other German. Both learnt to cook from”
mamma” and they are of course well-versed
in cooking and discovering traditional Italian recipes.
"I let them use my home and they opened it to friends
from all over the world." Papà Luigi tells
everyone.

the heart of the Chianti Classico hillside, half
an hour from Siena and an hour from Florence.
Being centrally located, Tuscany is well connected
by highways & fast rail network to the rest
of Italy, so you can go on visiting other areas
after or before your stay, as you can see from
